Truck Equipment Companies showcase new technologies.
2010 will be a challenging year for trucking as new regulations and economic pressures are escalating. This year’s show will exhibit new products that reduce diesel exhaust emission; reduce idle time, and improve fuel economy. Featured vendors Kenworth, Cummins, Eaton, and Country Mark, along with 70 additional vendors will be providing training on 2010 Engine SCR technology, biodiesel, CNG Engines, hybrid technology and more.

Palmer Truck Group is pleased to announce Former Congressman and Industry Leader Mike Sodrel as the special guest on Thursday November 19th at 5 PM. We are honored to have him share his perspective on current events affecting the transportation industry and our nation. Following his remarks, a social networking event will follow.

This event with showcase Kenworth’s newest product the Kenworth T470, and Palmer Group’s commitment to municipal market. The truck is equipped with innovative equipment such as Muncie Power Products’ MP2 Advantage and a full line of components, bodies and plows.

Palmer Trucks is pleased to present the Second Annual Truck & Equipment Show on November 19
and 20
at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Blue Ribbon Pavilion in Indianapolis, IN. The 65,000 square foot pavilion will be filled with over 75 vendors, trucks, equipment, and new product unveilings. This two day event will provide an opportunity for customers from the transportation industry to network with vendors to allow them to better understand their needs. We will have vendors providing free training classes ranging from air disc brakes, snow & ice hydraulics, lift axles, fuel economy standards and more. The event will also include product demonstrations, new product unveilings, and special guests. Thursday evening a short program and networking social event will be from 5 PM- 7PM. The show is open to the public and is free. A non-perishable food item is required to register for prizes and giveaways. The donation will benefit local charity, Community Caring and Sharing. Bio of Congressman Mike Sodrel
Mike Sodrel was sworn in as the Congressman from Indiana’s ninth district on January 3, 2005.
A licensed truck driver, Sodrel built, owned and operated several companies in Southern Indiana before going to the House of Representatives.
In June of 1976, Congressman Sodrel established a passenger transportation business with three 1949 GMC transit buses and five employees and named it The Free Enterprise System. In 1987, Mike purchased Sodrel Truck Lines from his family. Under Mike’s stewardship the company grew from 150 employees to a 700-person operation with offices in Jeffersonville, Ind. and Indianapolis and trucks and motor coaches on highways across the Midwest.
From 1966 to 1973 Sodrel served in the Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 151st Mechanized Infantry, formerly part of the 38th Infantry Division. He was discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
After serving his Country as a soldier, Congressman and CEO of his companies, Mike is still giving back to the great state of Indiana and the country through speaking to various schools, youth organizations, civic clubs and the community about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.
Mike and his wife Keta have been married Forty-two years. They reside in New Albany, and have two grown children and seven granddaughters.
